General information to consider when planning Hunting Safaris in South Africa.

Visa Requirements

Most nationalities do not require a visa to visit South Africa. A passport valid for at least 6 months is required.


You are advised to take out medical insurance.  No Malaria medication or any other special vaccinations are required.  South Africa has medical care of the highest quality and the Eastern Cape has a very healthy climate and environment.


Drinking water in South Africa is safe for consumption but bottled water is provided at all times for your peace of mind.


The best months for hunting are from April through to end of August, these are our cooler winter months.  Temperatures range from about:

Winter time (April to August)

10 – 24 degrees Celcius

50 – 75 degrees Fahrenheit

*Night time temperatures can be as low as -4 degrees Celcius/25 degrees Fahrenheit


Deposit: $1500.00 per hunter and per observer is required to confirm your Booking/Safari.

No deposits will be refunded if the client cancels within 4 months prior to the Safari, unless the Safari can be rebooked. In all other instances, a 50% deposit is refundable.

There is no refund on packages in the event that game is wounded. Animals will only be refunded if the hunter was unable to fire or if severe weather such as rain, snow etc. impacts the Safari. In such a case, the client will be refunded at a rate of 20% of the full amount.

Payments can be made in cash, traveller’s cheques, certified bank drafts and bank guaranteed personal cheques.

The full amount must be paid in full upon completion of the hunt, terms and conditions apply. Packages can be customized to suit your needs.

All trophies remain property of Trio’s until paid for in full.

Package trophies are not to be substituted but trophies can be added on.

Gratuities / Tips

Camp Staff $15.00/day


TRIO’S Safaris shall not be liable for any damage, losses and expenses suffered by any client as a result of sickness, guarantee, weather conditions or any other cause outside our control.

TRIO’S Safaris accepts no liability in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to person or property arising out of any act, omission or negligence. The client shall be deemed to have waived, renounced and abandoned any and all rights or entitlement which the client may be entitled to under the provisions of the law of the Republic of South Africa for any loss or damage to person or property.

TRIO’S Safaris shall not be liable for any loss or expense arising from the loss of property, cancellation or curtailment of the Hunting Safari however caused, save only to the extent that such loss of baggage, cancellation or curtailment was caused by the TRIO’S Safaris’ negligence.

If sickness or accident interrupts a safari, TRIO’S Safaris shall not be liable for any cost or expense arising therefrom, save only to the extent that such sickness or accident was caused by the TRIO’S Safaris’ wilful act or gross negligence.

The operator shall not be liable for any refund, either total or partial, of client money paid. We recommend passengers to take out necessary insurance’s to protect the passengers against such eventuality.
